After completing a thorough “invitation to negotiate” (ITN) process, the University of Florida has selected FBMC Benefits Management Inc. as the third-party administrator for its voluntary benefits programs—including dental, vision, life, disability, flexible spending accounts, and other benefit selections—under the new GatorCare health plan model.

In preparation for the implementation of the new GatorCare health plan, employees are encouraged to ensure their email addresses and home and campus P.O. Box addresses are reflected correctly in the myUFL Directory. To help ensure you receive important mailings, addresses should be updated now in the myUFL system.

Lapse in summer deductions for UF-sponsored insurance plans does not impact coverage
If you participate in certain UF-sponsored insurance plans, you will notice a temporary increase in take-home pay over the summer. Based on your appointment status, your deduction cycle for these university-sponsored plans will vary.

Employee Education Program accepting applications for summer semestersEmployees must report 2011-12 compensatory leave use by May 10
The Employee Education Program (EEP) is a popular benefit available to eligible UF faculty and staff. The program provides tuition assistance for up to six credit hours of eligible college-level courses per semester.
All non-exempt TEAMS and USPS employees as well as exempt USPS employees may use overtime and/or special compensatory leave through the end of the fiscal year—June 30—but the leave must be entered into the Weekly Elapsed Screen in the myUFL system no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, 2012.
Baby Gator to host conference for parents of
On Saturday, April 28, Baby Gator Child Development and Research—along with the Center for Excellence in Early Childhood Studies and the Harn Museum of Art—will host the third annual Guiding and Teaching Our Remarkable Children (G.A.T.O.R). Conference, designed for parents with infants through children 5 years of age.
