Details announced for 2013 Faculty and Staff Salary Increase Program

dollar billIn a June 17 memorandum to faculty and staff, President Bernie Machen announced the University of Florida would provide 2013 salary increases to eligible faculty and staff. On July 8, Paula Varnes Fussell, vice president for Human Resource Services, released further details regarding the implementation of the raises, which will be effective Oct. 1.

Additional employee groups join GatorCare this month
On July 1, the University of Florida transitioned additional employee groups onto the GatorCare health plan.  The new groups include postdoctoral associates, postdoctoral fellows, College of Medicine clinical faculty and residents (Gainesville and Jacksonville), College of Dentistry residents, and College of Veterinary Medicine residents and interns.

Employee Education Program accepting applications for the fall semester
The Employee Education Program (EEP) is a popular benefit available to eligible UF faculty and staff. The program provides tuition assistance for up to six credit hours of eligible college-level courses per semester.

GBAS provides web resource to UF business administrators
The Gator Business Administrator Services (GBAS) section of UF Finance & Accounting’s website was recently enhanced to better serve business administrators throughout campus. New features include a GBAS Resource Center as well as news and events pages.

New Faculty Orientation scheduled for August 14 and 15
This year’s New Faculty Orientation is currently scheduled for August 14 and 15 at Emerson Hall.   New faculty as well as presenters and other participants are currently being contacted directly to provide more details.  The Office of Human Resources is coordinating New Faculty Orientation this year rather than the Office of the Provost.  Questions?  Please contact Lizette Bloom Classen at lclassen@ufl.edu.
