PrintSmart initiative to introduce managed print services to campus

printsmartIn an effort to free up resources for departments, UF Purchasing recently introduced a new PrintSmart initiative designed to help departments save money on scanning, faxing, printing and copying. Research at other universities has demonstrated that implementing a campus-wide managed print solution provides significant savings and increased efficiencies.

Foreign policy and national security have prompted the enactment of U.S. laws that regulate the distribution of strategically important technology, services and information to foreign nationals and foreign countries.

Employee Education Program accepting applications for Summer B

A popular benefit available to eligible UF faculty and staff, the Employee Education Program (EEP) provides tuition assistance for up to six credit hours of eligible college-level courses per semester. In the summer, a combined total of six credits taken during semesters A, B, and C may be covered by the EEP.

Be sure to contact Benefits and Retirement with status changes

UF employees experiencing a “qualifying status change” should contact University Benefits and Retirement as soon as possible to ensure their benefits are properly adjusted for the remainder of the plan year. Employees have 60 days after a qualifying event occurs to make coverage changes.

Video and online collaboration services available

UF Information Technology (UFIT) offers video and collaboration services, planning and consulting in support of the university’s administrative, academic and sustainability goals. The video and collaboration staff can provide streaming services for presentations, lectures, training and special events.

Every year, about 200,000 men in the United States are diagnosed with prostate cancer. Johannes W. Vieweg, M.D., chair of the UF Department of Urology in the College of Medicine, said that with these statistics, he considers a urologist to be “a man’s best friend.”
