President Fuchs announces 2016 salary increases for eligible employees

By on August 4, 2015

In an Aug. 3 email to faculty and staff, UF President Kent Fuchs announced an increase in the minimum hourly wage and a merit-based pool for faculty and staff salary increases, based on funding available for the new fiscal year.

“Our goal is to have competitive market-based compensation for recruiting and retaining the best employees possible and to reward performance,” Dr. Fuchs wrote.

Raises for employees represented by bargaining units are still being determined and are subject to final bargaining and agreement.

Effective Jan. 1, 2016, those employees not represented by bargaining units will be eligible for a minimum wage increase from $10 to $12 per hour (non-OPS). In addition, a 2.5 percent merit-based pool for salary increases will be established for eligible faculty and staff effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Human Resource Services will provide additional details regarding eligibility criteria and the process for implementing the salary increases both by email and in the InfoGator.
