UF’s Information Security Office recently released the 2015 Employee Guide to Information Security. The brochure details how staff can protect their personal information and identity online as well as help safeguard UF’s data and network environment.
Among the topics covered in this year’s brochure is the importance of following established UF guidelines before purchasing computer equipment or software – regardless of whether the purchase is with UF funds or sponsored research funds. Faculty and staff who follow the IT acquisition evaluation process will save two valuable resources—time and money—as well as stress over post-purchase reviews that could mean delays for projects.
To request printed copies of the 2015 Employee Guide to Information Security, please email the UFIT Communications office with the number of copies you would like sent via campus mail. The brochure, along with additional information security resources for staff, are available on the Information Security website.
