President Fuchs announces Faculty and Staff Climate Initiative

At his Sept. 24 State of the University Address to the Faculty Senate, President Kent Fuchs announced that UF faculty and staff will be invited to participate in a university-wide climate survey in late October.

UF On Target job classification file now available

Beginning this month, supervisors and HR representatives throughout the university are being asked to review the new TEAMS job titles created as part of the UF On Target Classification Project and to recommend titles for TEAMS employees in their area. A new UF On Target job classification file intended to provide functionality similar to the raise review process is now available to employees with UF_EPAF_Department Admin and UF_EPAF_Level 1 Approver security roles.

Benefits Open Enrollment period is Oct. 19 through Nov. 6

This year’s Open Enrollment period begins Oct. 19 at 8 a.m. and ends Nov. 6 at 6 p.m. EST. Please note that the UF Benefits office will be closed on Nov. 6 for the Homecoming holiday. Employees are encouraged to submit their enrollment selections prior to Nov. 6 in case assistance is needed from the UF Benefits staff.

Sick Leave Pool Open Enrollment runs Oct. 1-31

SUSORP participants should be on the lookout for new service fees

In July, the state of Florida’s Division of Retirement requested that each State University System Optional Retirement Plan (SUSORP) vendor implement a plan servicing fee, determined annually. Participants in SUSORP plans should note that this fee will now be deducted from their accounts on a regular basis and is paid to the respective service providers for the costs of recordkeeping, administrative, audit, consulting, compliance, and employee services.

Internet Explorer 8 no longer supported by myUFL effective Oct. 18

Beginning Sunday, Oct. 18, Internet Explorer 8 will no longer be a supported browser for the myUFL system. Faculty and staff who use the myUFL system are encouraged to ensure their browsers are upgraded prior to this date, if necessary, for continued service.

All faculty and staff are required annually to disclose and receive approval for any outside activity or financial interest by completing the University of Florida's Disclosure of Outside Activities and Financial Interests form. This form should be completed prior to the commencement of the outside activity or acquiring the financial interest.

Enterprise replaces Avis as state’s designated car rental agency

The State of Florida has contracted with the parent company of Enterprise Rent-a-Car and National Car rental to provide vehicle rentals to state employees. The contract took effect Sept. 30 and replaces the agreement that had been in place with Avis.

Implementation plan for 2015-16 salary increases described

In a Sept. 8 UF Administrative Memo, UF Vice President Paula Varnes Fussell outlined the implementation plan for merit salary and minimum wage increases effective in 2016. Salary increases for employees in a bargaining unit are subject to union negotiation, and the university continues to work with the unions to reach agreement for covered employees.
