Upcoming Canvas workshops to cover the power of rubrics, peer review

Faculty may be interested in two new Canvas workshops now being offered by UFIT. The new workshops are designed to assist instructors in tracking students’ course progress, utilize rubrics and master online peer review.


FRS services expand to include electronic delivery

FRS Online services are expanding to include electronic delivery of information requested from the Division of Retirement. Estimates of benefits, years of service statements and other information you request before and after retirement can be viewed and downloaded from your FRS Online account. You will receive an email notifying you when the information you requested is available.


Campus Spotlight: Ted Spiker

If you’re not sold on the theory that slow and steady wins the race, Ted Spiker can prove to you that it will get you to the finish line with 20 minutes to spare.

Just two years ago, Spiker, professor and chair of UF’s Department of Journalism, persistently chugged his way to finish his first Ironman triathlon after just one year of training and preparation. A seasoned journalist who has covered health and wellness topics for nearly 20 years, Spiker’s college nickname was Hoover, and he describes himself as having “a body history that isn’t pretty.”

Weight Watchers at UF informational meeting Jan. 7

On Thursday, Jan. 7, a Weight Watchers informational meeting will be held in Wellman Classroom #271, Yon Hall (on the east side of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium) at noon. If at least 20 employees sign up, the 17-week program will begin on Thursday, Jan. 14, and will be held weekly thereafter from noon to 1 p.m. at Yon Hall.
