CoMap survey results illustrate connections, areas of potential

At a public forum held on Monday, May 2, UF leaders and representatives of the Elkus Manfredi and Dumont Janks consulting firms shared with approximately 60 attendees the results of the CoMap survey conducted for two weeks in April. More than 2,200 faculty, staff, students and community members completed the survey, which asked participants to place icons to indicate where they live, work and socialize as well as to outline their typical transportation routes.


Town hall meetings, open forums will provide opportunities to share and discuss results of Faculty & Staff Climate Survey

Designed to help determine how well the university fosters an overall sense of belonging for its faculty and staff, the UF Faculty and Staff Climate Survey was available for completion from Oct. 27 through Nov. 27 of 2015.


2016 Prudential Productivity Award winners announced

The Prudential Productivity Awards, an annual event honoring state employees throughout Florida, has announced its winners for 2016, including four winners from the University of Florida.


New “essential personnel” policy addresses compensation during emergency closing

During times when the university closes due to an emergency, essential personnel may still be required to work. The University of Florida recently developed a policy regarding the compensation of essential personnel during an emergency closing.


Employees must report 2015-2016 compensatory leave use by June 2

All non-exempt TEAMS and USPS employees as well as exempt USPS employees may use overtime and/or special compensatory leave through the end of the fiscal year—June 30—but the leave must be entered into the Elapsed Timesheet in the myUFL system no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.


Use your 2015-2016 personal days by June 30

If you have unused TEAMS or faculty personal leave days or a USPS personal holiday, now is the time to use those days. USPS personal holidays and TEAMS/faculty personal leave days will expire if they are not used by the end of the pay period in which June 30 (the end of the fiscal year) occurs. The last day to use your personal days for 2015-2016 is June 30.


Lapse in summer deductions for 9- and 10-month employees does not affect coverage

Employees on 9- and 10-month appointments will not have deductions taken over the summer months for UFSelect, GatorCare and/or state plans if enrolled. Premiums for these employees’ elected coverage(s) are deducted in the fall and spring semesters in order to cover the summer months.


Final phase of UFIRST implementation slated for July 5 go-live

In an effort to significantly improve the way it administers research, the Office of Research introduced the University of Florida Integrated Research Support Tool—or UFIRST—in the spring of 2015. On July 5, the final phase of the UFIRST implementation will be complete when the awards module of the system is launched.
