Jodi Gentry named vice president for Human Resources

Following a national search, Jodi Gentry was recently selected as the vice president for Human Resources, effective June 1. She succeeds Paula Varnes Fussell, who retired from the University of Florida on May 31.


David W. Parrott appointed vice president for Student Affairs

Probationary periods introduced for exempt employees

All employees hired after April 1, 2016 — now including exempt employees — will serve an initial six-month probationary period, with the exception of sworn law enforcement employees who serve a 12-month probationary period. Upon successful completion of the probationary period, the hiring department will issue a one-year letter of appointment, which will continue to be renewable on an annual basis.


New 2016-17 Fringe Benefit Pool numbers announced

In a May 11 UF Administrative Memo, Alan M. West, assistant vice president and university controller, announced the pooled fringe rates for the 2016-17 fiscal year.


GBAS event to address leadership, power and influence, gender differences, and organizational behavior

RAFT certificate now available to all UF research administrators

The Office of Research has announced the creation of the new RAFT (Research Administration and Financials Training) certificate of completion. The RAFT certificate sequence includes five online courses and nine instructor-led courses.


Improved system for acquiring employment references coming June 6
