Windows to Wellness 2017: Save the date

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the Office of Human Resource Services, in partnership with UF Health and GatorCare, will host the second annual Windows to Wellness event — a health and wellness fair designed with UF and UF Health employees in mind. This year’s event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom of the J. Wayne Reitz Union.

Cyberattacks on UF increasingly sophisticated

Recent phishing campaigns targeting UF faculty and staff have shown an increasing sophistication, posing an increasing threat to UF. While previous attempts were generally obvious due to spelling errors or recognizable mistakes in content or layout, recent phishing emails have been difficult to immediately distinguish from genuine, UF department-sent emails.


Social Security taxable wage base announced for 2017

In 2017, the Social Security wage base will increase to $127,200, up $8,700 from the 2016 wage base. The maximum Social Security tax employees and employers will each pay in 2017 is $7,886.40 ($127,200 x 6.2%).


Environmental Horticulture Department Club to host 20th annual poinsettia fundraiser Dec. 8 and 9

Over 40 varieties will be offered for sale including traditional reds and novelties such as Visions of Grandeur, Orange Spice, Winter Rose and Ice Punch.

The campaign focuses on the topic of consent with the purpose of reducing the incidence of sexual assault among our UF students.


PPD hosts town hall meeting @ COM

UF’s Physical Plant Division of Business Affairs is hosting town hall meetings throughout campus during 2016 and 2017. On Nov. 10, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Communicore building Room C1-4, PPD representatives will meet with the College of Medicine in the Health Science Center.


Enrolled in a High Deductible Health plan?

If you enroll in a High Deductible Health plan during Open Enrollment, you may be eligible to open an HSA account. This HSA account can be used to pay out-of-pocket expenses like your deductible and co-insurance now or for qualified medical expenses in the future.


Signing up for UFSelect Term Life or Long Term Disability plan?

The Standard – Term Life – Requires a myUFL Enrollment and medical application. Term Life provides coverage levels up to $800,000 for employee coverage, $400,000 for spouse/domestic partner coverage and $25,000 for dependent child coverage. Spouse/domestic partner and/or dependent coverage cannot exceed employee coverage.
