Join 352Creates March 24-25 to create a healthy community

UF Health, the Arts in Medicine Programs at UF, UF Health Shands Arts in Medicine and the City of Gainesville are partnering to host two days of participatory art-making on Friday and Saturday, March 24 and 25, throughout the 352 area code.

Now in its second year, 352Creates aims to demonstrate that creativity can be fun for everyone. “Pop-up” style art activities will help promote health and community engagement in unexpected ways and locations.

“What I love and admire about 352Creates is how it seeks to inspire people to enjoy, appreciate and become a part of making art, whatever their background or profession,” said UF President Kent Fuchs. “This is a great way of encouraging everyone to learn about and become involved in the arts, helping to ensure that our university community continues to blossom as a place with rich and diverse educational and cultural opportunities.”

  • Create in Place on Friday March 24 Local cultural groups, artists, community agencies, businesses and individuals can encourage creativity at home and in the workplace. Co-workers, students and neighbors can get together and enjoy a hands-on creative project. You don’t have to be an artist to have fun making art!
  • Create in Community on Saturday March 25 Join the 352 community at Depot Park (200 SE Depot Ave., Gainesville) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to engage in a variety of hands-on art-making, performance and other activities. The events are free and open to the public. You can also host an event on Saturday.
