Raise Your Hand for Florida 4-H

Currently, National 4-H Council is sponsoring a Grow True Leaders campaign, asking 4-H friends and alumni to participate in a “Raise Your Hand” for 4-H campaign.  UF/IFAS 4-H is competing against other land-grant institutions to have the most hands raised in support of their 4-H program. 4H is asking all UF faculty and staff to participate in the campaign.

How it Works

  1. RAISE YOUR HAND: Friends and alumni of Florida 4-H sign-up at 4-H.org/RaiseYourHand.
  2. SHARE YOUR JOURNEY: Alumni are asked to tweet, post or caption their 4-H experience photos to show 4-H support with hash tag #4HGrown.
  3. PAY IT FORWARD: 4-H alumni are asked to tag other 4-H alumni and ask them to raise their hand.
  4. COMPETE FOR YOUR STATE: The state with the most alumni hands raised gets a $20,000 reward, with the winning state announced on June 30, 2017.

4-H is a non-formal, practical educational program for youth. Florida 4-H is the youth development program of Florida Cooperative Extension, a part of the University of Florida IFAS. The program provides experiences where youth can learn by doing, grow from failure, express their ideas and use their influence to drive positive outcomes.

As a land-grant university, the University of Florida supports research-based youth development programs that take university knowledge and expertise to youth in rural, suburban and urban communities.
