Are your life insurance beneficiaries up to date?

Beneficiary information for your life insurance plans may be updated at any time throughout the year. Keeping your designations up to date ensures that your life benefits are paid to the person or people that you intended. With various life plans offered at UF, beneficiaries are collected and maintained differently based upon the plan in which you are enrolled.

State of Florida plans
Basic and optional life insurance offered by the State of Florida are maintained by the Securian. To add, check or change beneficiaries, log on to the Securian website to access your record. Designations or changes can also be made by completing the state life designation form and returning it to the address on the top of the form.

UFSelect plans
Information on UFSelect term life and college life plans maintained by The Standard—along with information on beneficiaries—is maintained in the myUFL system. Review the Benefits Summary & Beneficiary instruction guide to view your life plan summary and update your designation in the myUFL system, if enrolled. Instructions for Setting a Trust as your beneficiary are also available to help ensure you enter the name of your Trust correctly in the portal.
