Finalists in Chief Diversity Officer search to visit campus this month

During the weeks of April 9 and 16, the University of Florida will welcome finalists in its search for its first Chief Diversity Officer and Senior Advisor to the President. Candidate profiles, schedules and evaluation forms may be found on the CDO Search section of UF Human Resources’ website.

The following candidates are scheduled to visit:

  • Matthew L. Boaz, currently Chief Diversity Officer at Wright State University, will visit campus April 9-10.
  • John Fitzgerald Gates, currently Associate Dean for Diversity and Inclusion for the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science, will visit campus April 11-12.
  • Antonio Farias, currently Vice President for Equity & Inclusion at Wesleyan University, will visit campus April 19-20.

At this time, schedules have been posted for the first two candidates, who will visit the week of April 9. Further details will continue to be posted as they become available. Faculty and staff are encouraged to participate during the following sessions, as appropriate:

The chief diversity officer will provide leadership, expertise and vision for a coordinated model for diversity and inclusion. As a member of the president’s cabinet, the chief diversity officer will also have a strategic position responsible for promoting and enabling an exceptional environment for faculty, students and staff.
