Additional UF Faculty and Staff Climate Initiative action items announced

In February, the UF Faculty and Staff Climate Survey Working Group announced three areas on which it would focus to begin to address responses to the Fall 2015 Faculty-Staff Climate Survey and subsequent discussions held throughout 2016. The action items fell under the categories of Inclusiveness, Professional Advancement and Respect. This spring, a second wave of action items are being introduced to address issues of work-life integration and to provide the university community with examples of best practices to create a more inclusive environment.

UF Professor’s exploration of racist and anti-racist ideas wins National Book Award

His self-effacing laugh makes it clear that he has accepted his recent accolades with grace, but the professor of African-American history’s most recent book has catapulted him to new levels of notoriety in academia and beyond. The book, Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America, won the 2016 National Book Award for nonfiction, became a New York Times bestseller, and was called the most ambitious book of 2016 by the Washington Post.

PrintSmart Convenience Fee Reduction for Xerox 8900

Lapse in summer deductions for 9- and 10-month employees does not affect coverage

Employees on 9- and 10-month appointments will not have deductions taken over the summer months for UFSelect, GatorCare and/or state plans. Premiums for these employees’ elected coverage plan(s) are deducted in the fall and spring semesters to pay for coverage in the summer months.

State Employee Adoption Benefit Program

Faculty and staff to receive 1.5 percent salary increase effective Jan. 1

UF Coral Gables consolidates services in Miami-Dade County

Chard Snyder introduces new mobile app for FSA, HSA accounts

A new app, Chard Snyder Mobile, is now available to participants in its flexible spending accounts (FSA) and HSA Advantage accounts. The app enables participants to use their smartphones or tablets to access their accounts, view claims and receipts and file for reimbursement.
