UF Office of Graduate Diversity Initiatives’ new name designed to honor students and their culture

On Aug. 1, the former UF Office of Graduate Minority Programs changed its name to the UF Office of Diversity Initiatives in an effort to remove the oppressive language, false perceptions, and negative interpretations that the word “minority” can bring.

Change in tax method for faculty and staff recognition programs introduced

Effective Aug. 11, the way employees are taxed for awards (earnings code AWD) was changed to the supplemental tax rate set by the IRS, currently 25 percent for federal withholding.

Drug-Free Workplace Statement illustrates UF commitment

The federal law known as the Drug-Free Workplace Act requires the University of Florida to maintain a drug-free workplace. The University of Florida is committed to providing a campus environment free from the abuse of alcohol and the illegal use of alcohol and drugs.
