Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit now scheduled for March

Updated 1/22/18: Please note that DSGI has been made aware that some employees are receiving spam calls from in-state and out-of-state area codes designed to elicit personal information, such as Social Security Numbers, with callers claiming they are part of the dependent eligibility verification audit. Please be cautious about disclosing confidential information. HMS is conducting the audit and will NOT request Social Security Numbers to confirm your identity. If you have any questions, please contact HMS directly at www.verifyOS.com or 877-577-4549.

Did you see the story in last month’s issue of UF at Work about the coming Division of State Group Insurance (DSGI) audit, which affects all employees with dependents enrolled in state plans?

Health Management Systems Inc. (HMS) is administering the audit. Requests for documents, which were originally scheduled to go out to applicable employees at Florida state universities in December, will now begin going out in March. A letter will be mailed to employees’ addresses on file letting them know what documentation is required, how they can submit the documents and to contact HMS with questions. Please keep an eye out for these requests from HMS.

Employees receiving requests for dependent documentation must respond promptly and submit appropriate documentation as noted in the request directly to HMS and not the UFHR Benefits Office. Failure to submit legible copies of required documents can result in termination of insurance coverage for the dependents in question. Please do not submit documentation until you receive a letter from HMS requesting your documents.

To learn more, read the detailed story in last month’s issue or visit the state’s website. A dedicated call center for the audit will be available once you receive your letter; the call center phone number will be included in your letter.
