Leave cash-out opportunity through Nov. 8

Each year, UF TEAMS employees are eligible to cash out up to 16 hours of vacation leave before the holiday season, provided a minimum of 40 hours remains on balance. This year’s leave cash-out period runs from Monday, Oct. 30, through Wednesday, Nov. 9. Eligible participants will receive the cash-out payment in their Nov. 17 paycheck.

TEAMS leave cash-out hours must be entered no later than midnight on Nov. 8 and approved by the supervisor no later than the deadline of 10 a.m. on Nov. 9, as Nov. 10 is a holiday and payroll is closing 1 day early. Departments are responsible for ensuring that no more than 16 hours are cashed out and that 40 hours remain after the cash-out hours have been deducted.

Now in its 35th year, the Florida Government Productivity Awards — formerly TaxWatch Productivity Awards — honor state employees for their innovative and cost-saving accomplishments as well as the measurable contributions, increased productivity and added value of individuals and teams.


HEO scholarship applications due Nov. 1

The University of Florida’s Higher Education Opportunity, or HEO, scholarship provides children of full-time TEAMS employees with tuition assistance for an undergraduate education at UF. In March 2024, 150 TEAMS employees will be randomly selected by UF Human Resource from a pool of eligible applicants to participate in the HEO.

Each eligible employee may submit one child’s name into the drawing. To be considered for this benefit, the TEAMS employee must apply for the HEO scholarship by Nov. 1, 2023.


October is National Disability Employment Awareness month

Under the Americans with Disabilities Act, or ADA, employees with disabilities have the right to request reasonable accommodations at work.
