Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit now complete

Moving forward, employees must submit new dependent documentation within 60-day window

The Division of State Group Insurance’s (DSGI) Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit is now complete. Thank you to everyone who responded to requests for documentation, enabling the completion of the audit.

To ensure accountability in the state group insurance program, moving forward, when an employee adds a new dependent to his or her health insurance coverage through a qualifying status change such as a marriage, birth or new hire, he or she will receive an email message to the email address on file with People First requesting documentation. (Learn how to view or update your email address in People First below.) If the employee does not have an email on file, a letter will be mailed to the employee’s address on file. If employees do not send the required documents within 60 days from the date of the request or if their documents do not prove dependent eligibility, dependents will be removed from insurance coverage.

Read this DSGI advisory for more information or call (850) 921-4600 with any questions.
