Our caring community — working together during turbulent times

In a statement sent to the UF community last Friday, UF Police Chief Linda Stump-Kurnick shared that the UF Police Department is working with the FBI and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to ensure the safety of the UF community in the event of any potential violence related to tomorrow’s presidential inauguration. As of Friday, there was no indication of any plans for violence in Gainesville or on the UF campus.

If you see anything that raises concern or suspicion, you can report it by calling UPD at (352) 392-1111 or by using the GatorSafe app. As part of its emergency preparedness plans, UF also trains Building Emergency Coordinators throughout campus who serve as pre-identified points of contact to support public safety. If you are curious who serves as your area’s Building Emergency Coordinator, you can login to find a list here.
