Both the College of Medicine and the College of Journalism and Communications will welcome new deans in the coming year. Both appointments were announced last Friday.
Colleen G. Koch has been named dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine, becoming the 10th dean and the first woman to hold the appointment in the college’s history. Koch, who currently serves as a professor and chair of the department of anesthesiology and critical care medicine at Johns Hopkins Medicine and anesthesiologist-in-chief of The Johns Hopkins Hospital, will begin her new role Jan. 10.
Hub Brown, associate dean and associate professor at the Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University, has been named dean of the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications. Brown will assume his new position on July 1.
