Preparing for upcoming UF holidays and time off

The holiday season is just around the corner! UFHR wants to be sure you know about our upcoming fall and winter holidays so you can begin preparing for—and looking forward to—your time off.
Leave reporting and essential personnel considerations in anticipation of UF closure

As announced yesterday, due to Tropical Storm Nicole and out of an abundance of caution, the university campus in Gainesville will close Nov. 10, and other UF areas throughout the state will have had similar closings in keeping with their county government guidelines. The university expects to resume holiday campus operations on Friday, Nov. 11. However, the university will remain closed for business and classes on Friday in honor of Veterans Day. Clinical personnel and all UF Health staff in Gainesville should follow their prescribed procedures.
Leave cash-out opportunity through Nov. 9

Each year, UF TEAMS employees are eligible to cash out up to 16 hours of vacation leave before the holiday season, provided a minimum of 40 hours remains on balance.
HEO scholarship deadline extended to Nov. 7

The Higher Education Opportunity scholarship deadline has been moved to Nov. 7 to align with UF’s application deadline.
Save the Date for the Benefits and Wellness Fair, Oct. 24

Benefits Open Enrollment takes place now through Oct. 28. This period is your opportunity to add, change or remove benefit plans for the next plan year, with elections made taking effect on Jan. 1, 2023. Watch the video below to learn about upcoming benefits changes.

As announced earlier today, due to Hurricane Ian, the university campus in Gainesville will close Sept. 28, and other UF areas throughout the state will have had similar closings in keeping with their county government guidelines. It is expected university facilities statewide will reopen on Saturday, Oct. 1. Clinical personnel and all UF Health staff in Gainesville should follow their prescribed procedures.
