The State of Florida and UF’s Benefits Open Enrollment period is your opportunity to make changes to your benefits enrollments for the upcoming calendar year. This year’s Open Enrollment started yesterday and runs through Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. EST.
Importantly, note that UFHR Benefits will never contact you to ask you for your personal information. Please do not share your Social Security number or any other private information with anyone who calls claiming to represent the university or the State of Florida during Open Enrollment or at any other time throughout the year.
Each fall, the annual open enrollment period provides you with an opportunity to evaluate your current benefits to determine if adjustments are needed for the new plan year. This year’s open enrollment period begins today and ends on Friday, Oct. 29, at 6 p.m. EST. Changes made during open enrollment will take effect Jan. 1, 2022.
Florida’s Amendment 2, which the legislature passed in November 2020, will increase Florida’s minimum wage incrementally until it reaches $15 per hour in September 2026.
Created in 2003, the Higher Education Opportunity, or HEO, program provides tuition assistance for an undergraduate education at the University of Florida to children of full-time TEAMS employees in the form of a scholarship. In March 2022, UFHR will randomly select up to 150 TEAMS employees from a pool of eligible applicants to participate in the HEO. The deadline to submit an application is Nov. 1, 2021.
Robert Cancellieri, JD, recently joined UFHR as its new director of employee relations and engagement, and last fall, former Employee Relations Director Brook Mercier was promoted to UFHR’s assistant vice president for human resources.
