Welcome the holiday season with the Lighting of the Holiday Gator

Students, faculty, staff, families and friends are invited to the “Lighting of the Holiday Gator” on Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 5 p.m. on the lawn of the University Auditorium near the corner of Newell Drive and Union Road. 

The event is open to the public and will feature performances by the Gator Marching Band, the UF Sunshine Steelers and the UF Concert Choir — as well as hot chocolate, apple cider and other holiday treats.

This week, the UF Bookstore, Florida Museum and the Harn Museum of Art will hold faculty and staff appreciation days.

Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving

As a reminder, the University of Florida will be observing the Thanksgiving holiday next week on Thursday and Friday, Nov. 25 and 26. We wish you safe travels if you are traveling and joy with your loved ones.

The UF Health Screen, Test & Protect and Student Health Care Center teams want to remind you if you are traveling for Thanksgiving to wear a mask, sanitize frequently and follow CDC guidance to get to and from your destinations in a safe and healthy manner. If you become ill, stay away from others, get tested and seek medical care if needed.

How UF helps veterans succeed as they pursue an education

Veterans Day is a time for us to honor those who bravely served our country. Thanks to the GI Bill, thousands of military veterans have been able to pursue an education at the University of Florida.
