The Tree of Life, an online phylogenetic taxonomy project, can assist researchers in curing diseases, developing medicines, improving agricultural crops and predicting how plants and animals are going to move in response to climate change. Distinguished professors at the Florida Museum of Natural History Pamela Soltis, PhD, and Douglas Soltis, PhD, are major contributors to the development of the Tree of Life. They are also principal investigators in the UF Laboratory of Molecular Systematics and Evolutionary Genetics (Soltis Lab).

The UF Fulbright Lecture Committee and International Center will host the Soltises on Jan. 24 at 6 p.m. for a discussion about their contributions to this revolutionary project and where you fit in!
