Florida Museum Collectors Day, closures this month
Celebrate the Florida Museum of Natural History’s 37th Collectors Day on Jan. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. This free, popular event has attracted collectors from across the region for more than 30 years. Enjoy a variety of personal collections and learn the history and context of these treasures. From sports and Beatles memorabilia to classic cars and antique cameras, chat with the collectors to discover how collecting isn’t just for scientists! For more information, visit www.flmnh.ufl.edu/collectorsday or call (352) 273-2061.
Please note that the Florida Museum of Natural History, including the Butterfly Rainforest exhibit, will be closed Jan. 10-12 and Feb. 22-24, 2016 for preventative fumigation to protect its Lepidoptera collections and library resources. Collectors Day, scheduled for Jan. 9, and Volunteer Orientation, scheduled for Jan. 13, will continue as planned. Please check www.flmnh.ufl.edu for updates or call Paul Ramey, (352) 213-0999, for more information.
