Florida Youth Institute: Application deadline

The UF/IFAS College of Agricultural and Life Sciences invites rising high-school juniors and seniors for the 2019–2020 academic year to apply for the Florida Youth Institute (FYI) summer science program. Applicants should be Florida students interested in learning more about college majors and career opportunities pertaining to the life sciences, natural resources or Florida agriculture.

The application deadline is February 28, 2019, and applications can be found at: http://www.cpet.ufl.edu/students. Students may select one of two session dates to attend: July 14–19, 2019, OR July 21–26, 2019. The cost to attend is $350 per applicant.

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • ​​Meet with UF/IFAS CALS Dean Dr. Elaine Turner and representatives from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, as well as UF/IFAS faculty and staff;
  • Experience indoor and outdoor laboratories and campus facilities;
  • Reflect on worldwide challenges, such as food security;
  • And much more!
