Friday, March 1, 8:30 a.m.–5 p.m.
J. Wayne Reitz Union Chamber
686 Museum Road
Gainesville, FL 32611

In a collaborative effort, on Feb. 28 and March 1 the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Levin College of Law and the Herbert Wertheim College of Engineering will bring together experts from around the world working to provide leadership, diagnose problems and propose solutions related to the deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) across major sectors of our society. In the Reitz Union Chamber, the conference will promote collaboration on the technical, social and ethical dimensions of AI throughout the university and the region.

The event consists of five sessions, each focused on the use of AI in a particular domain: transportation; medicine and healthcare; philosophy and science of mind; criminal justice; and media. Each session will consist of a panel of experts who will briefly present their work in the domain and then participate in a moderated discussion with each other and the audience. The event is free and open to the public. International parties are invited to view it via livestream.
