AI Spotlight – The Center for Gender, Sexualities and Women’s Studies Research

UF’s Center for Gender, Sexualities and Women’s Studies Research offers an interdisciplinary forum for the study of gender and sexualities; their intersections with race, ethnicity, class and other sociocultural systems; and their functions in cultures and societies. Part of the center’s mission is also to stimulate individual and collaborative research by UF faculty engaged in these topics.

So why would the center be interested in hiring faculty with artificial intelligence (AI) expertise? As it turns out, examining bias in AI will be an important area of expansion for the Center and of critical importance to the development and use of AI. To learn more about the center’s work in AI, we interviewed Dr. Bonnie Moradi, center director and professor of psychology.
