A season of change, growth and opportunity
While it will be some time before the weather takes a turn toward cooler temperatures, you can still feel the buzz of the change of season in the air as our students arrive or return to campus, and we welcome new leadership, faculty and staff. This time of year never fails to thrill me, even after years of working at UF. But while many of the sights and sounds are familiar, there are also plenty of new activities happening to keep things interesting.
One of the things I’m most excited about is the Empowering UF initiative to implement Workday in the summer of 2027. While that may seem a long time from now, rest assured that our project team, along with hundreds of faculty and staff throughout UF, has been hard at work re-envisioning the way we do business at UF.

You can read what many of them already have to say about Workday here, and you can hear even more of what I have to say in this video. (Did I mention I’m excited?)

As a university known for innovation and impact, we need systems that support efficient work and data-informed decision making. Our goal is to provide modernized, intuitive systems and processes that not only enable but enhance the ways we connect, collaborate and get our work done. Workday is a key piece of how we will bring that vision to life — and I can’t wait for you to see it.
If you’re interested in diving more deeply, I encourage you to explore the Education and Resources section of the Empowering UF website, which includes demos, core concepts and much more. We’ll be sharing even more information and training opportunities over the course of the next year, offering plenty of additional outreach and support along the way to help you navigate the transition.
Wishing you a wonderful start to a new semester and academic year.
Go Gators!
