Faculty and staff merit, minimum wage increases take effect Jan. 1

As UF President Kent Fuchs announced in July, a 3 percent salary increase pool has been established to provide merit increases to faculty and staff this academic year.  Individual increases determined by criteria established by colleges and units will take effect on Jan. 1. Departments seeking further guidance are encouraged to consult the Compensation section of the UFHR website.

In addition to merit increases, the Florida minimum wage will increase from $8.10 to $8.25 per hour—a 1.86 percent increase—effective Jan. 1. UFHR will identify employees—including OPS, STAS, and FWSP—currently earning an hourly rate less than $8.25 per hour. In December, HRS will implement an automated process to implement the salary increase.
