New online resources available for hiring managers and new employees

As part of its strategic commitment to preeminence through people, UFHR has launched an online “Hiring Center” designed to support the
UF hiring process as well as a new online “Welcome Center.”  This is a first step toward improving the onboarding experience for new employees which is aligned with UFHR’s larger, long-term goal of helping bring the strongest talent to UF via best practices and strategi
es.

The updated UF Hiring Center includes streamlined navigation, updated information on UF’s current recruitment and hiring practices as well as small but impactful additions including a Hiring Department Interview Guide. A new Recruitment and Staffing landing page also provides links to applicant resources for prospective employees (via jobs.ufl.edu) as well as information for current employees who may need to make changes to their employee record or need additional information on UF’s employment practices.

The new online UF Welcome Center provides an onboarding resource designed to lead new employees through the time just prior to starting their new jobs at UF, their first few days, their first 60 days and beyond. The website replaces the former new employee guide that had been printed on an annual basis and distributed upon request. The new site provides a more nimble format with regularly updated information for new employees as well as increased links to helpful information throughout the UF community.

In the coming months, UFHR will continue to develop additional resources and tools to assist departments in identifying, recruiting and hiring the best candidates. If you have reactions to the new Hiring Center or Welcome Center—or if you have other ideas you’d like to share with us—please email employment@ufl.edu or hrscommunications@ufl.edu.
