Dana Crosby named 2019 Florida TaxWatch Productivity Award winner

The Florida TaxWatch Productivity Awards—an annual event honoring state employees across Florida—has announced its winners for 2019. This year, Dana Crosby, a program administrator with UF’s Department of Sports Management, will receive a plaque award.

Crosby, a program administrator in the Florida School Crossing Guard Training Program, launched a computer-based training (CBT) program for the certification of school crossing guard training. Implementation of the CBT program reduced a two-day class to a one-day training session. This program enables agencies throughout the state to save time and money by streamlining the process for their staff to become certified Florida School Crossing Guard Trainers. The cost-savings estimate of Crosby’s efforts is $92,000.

This year, 189 awards will be presented to individuals and teams for their innovation and productivity improvements. Since 1989, award winners have produced approximately $10 billion in cost savings and avoidance or efficiency gains for Florida taxpayers and businesses.
