Double deductions for state plans begin for nine- and 10-month employees

To ensure coverage for state health, life and supplemental insurance continues during the summer, double deductions will be collected from nine-month and 10-month employees’ paychecks beginning with the Feb. 1 paycheck and continuing through May 10. Normal payroll deductions resume in September.

All graduate assistants participating in spring/summer GatorGradCare will have double deductions during this period to pay for their summer plan coverage. Deductions for all other GatorCare health plans and the UFSelect plans are not doubled since premiums are prorated to align with the nine-month and 10-month appointment pay cycles.

Nine- and 10-month employees whose pay will be interrupted during this period due to a medical or personal leave of absence, termination of employment, FTE change, etc., prior to the end of the spring semester should contact UFHR Benefits by calling (352) 392-2477 or emailing benefits@ufl.edu for guidance on options or the impact on existing coverage.
