Get your hands dirty! November, December wellness events take us into the garden

On Nov. 7, UF-UF Health Wellness welcomed Working Food Community Programs Director Melissa DeSa for a Wellness Wednesday to introduce the challenges and opportunities of gardening in Florida. DeSa shared a wealth of information on our climate, soil preparation, and seed and plant selection as well as other tips and tricks to getting a new vegetable garden off to a good start. If you missed it, you can view DeSa’s presentation online via Mediasite.

December’s Wellness Wednesday will take participants out of the classroom and into the garden by joining Field and Fork’s Anna Prizzia and Dina Liebowitz for a special “Seasons Eatings” on the farm at Field and Fork’s Community Gardens. Join us in person at the gardens (next to the bat houses) or online at UF at Work’s Facebook page as we stream via Facebook Live on Wednesday, Dec. 12, at noon. (Please note the date change.)
