IRS employer mandate notice: Action required

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) continues to enforce the Employer Shared Responsibility Payment requirement (“Employer Mandate”) in the Affordable Care Act and is mailing notices to employers who may owe a penalty for calendar year 2016. The State of Florida and UF have 30 days from the date of the letter to respond.

The notice of assessment will be sent in the form of a “Letter 226j” and will come from the Department of the Treasury Internal Revenue Service. If you or your department receives this communication, please forward it to UFHR Benefits Office as soon as possible to help UF avoid penalties. You can forward the letter to the Benefits Office in any of the following ways:
