New Faculty Orientation on Aug. 16, our largest ever

To welcome new faculty to the University of Florida and provide information about available resources and services, UF Human Resources will host this year’s New Faculty Orientation on Friday, Aug. 16. The event is an opportunity for incoming faculty to learn more about the university, meet each other and gain information about resources and services that will help them have a successful start at UF and that will continue to support them throughout their career.

This year, close to 600 new faculty were invited to attend New Faculty Orientation, making this the largest-ever group of incoming faculty, due in large part to UF’s Faculty 500 hiring initiative. In order to accommodate the increased number of new faculty expected to attend, the event will be held at the Stephen C. O’Connell Center’s Exactech Arena.

New faculty have been contacted directly with an invitation to register online for the event here: https://hr.ufl.edu/working-at-uf/current-employees/nfo/. Departments are encouraged to access UFHR’s onboarding resources for faculty and to encourage new faculty to visit our online Welcome Center.

“Thank you for your support and assistance in welcoming our new faculty to the UF,” said Jodi Gentry, vice president for UF Human Resources. “We are looking forward to an exciting and productive event.”
