Non-student hourly OPS policy now available
A University of Florida policy that defines non-student hourly OPS employment took effect on Aug. 16 and can be found here.
The policy provides parameters on the appropriate use of non-student hourly OPS employees on a term or as‐needed basis. It also includes more descriptive OPS job codes and introduces a threshold for total hours worked for four of the job codes (OPS Time-Limited, OPS Special Risk, OPS Sponsored Projects Non-Clerical and OPS Sponsored Projects Clerical).
Areas with employees at the threshold (4,176 hours) as of Aug. 16 should communicate their specific plans to address long-standing OPS employment with Classification and Compensation at compensation@ufl.edu as soon as possible. There is no expectation that employment must have ended on Aug. 16; however, reasonable and specific plans for impacted OPS jobs must be identified.
Questions about this policy may be directed to your college/department human resources liaison or to compensation@ufl.edu.
