In April, Microsoft began notifying Outlook Web Access (OWA) app users of its decision to retire the OWA mobile app. At UF, Microsoft’s decision impacts approximately 500 faculty and staff who use it to get UF email on their smartphones.
As of May 15, the OWA apps for both iOS and Android are no longer working. Anyone using Office 365 who tries to open the OWA mobile app now will see a message and a link to download Outlook for iOS or Android. UFIT encourages OWA app users to make changes to their mobile device as soon as possible to ensure they continue to receive UF email in a way that is convenient for them. UFIT asks users to configure mail via the built-in mail application on their iOS or Android device. Members of the campus community who need help configuring their devices to get UF email on their phone should contact their local IT support staff. Faculty, staff and students can also get UF email assistance from the UF Computing Help Desk.
