In partnership with the Florida Academic Lichen and Fungi Enthusiasts League, the Florida Museum of Natural History will host “Mushrooms at the Museum” on Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free event begins with a fungal foray outdoors through the University of Florida’s Natural Area Teaching Lab followed by a presentation by mushroom expert Alan Bessette on Gulf Coast mushrooms and demos in the museum’s classrooms with activities such as mushroom cultivation and spore prints.
