Chasing the rare arogos skipper butterfly

Once common along the East and Gulf coasts, the eastern arogos skipper butterfly now survives in only a few isolated populations due to habitat loss and changing land management. By surveying wild populations and raising butterflies in the lab, Florida Museum researchers hope to gather data that will guide conservation efforts and support future protections for the species.
