Ready for the holidays? December leave cash-out period is Nov. 4-14

If you are a TEAMS employee, you may be eligible to cash out up to 16 hours of vacation leave during Nov. 4 to 14 if you have at least 40 hours of vacation leave remaining on balance after the end of that pay period.

Be sure to enter your holiday time and leave early

UF Leave Administration encourages you to enter your time and leave early as you make preparations for time off during the holidays. All TEAMS and Academic Personnel identified by their departments as “essential employees” may enter December personal leave now.


Year-end vacation leave conversion slated for January

The annual vacation leave conversion process will take place at the end of the pay period covering Dec. 30, 2016, through Jan. 12, 2017. Employees with vacation hours exceeding the annual maximum will automatically be converted into their sick leave balance.


New “essential personnel” policy addresses compensation during emergency closing

During times when the university closes due to an emergency, essential personnel may still be required to work. The University of Florida recently developed a policy regarding the compensation of essential personnel during an emergency closing.


Employees must report 2015-2016 compensatory leave use by June 2

All non-exempt TEAMS and USPS employees as well as exempt USPS employees may use overtime and/or special compensatory leave through the end of the fiscal year—June 30—but the leave must be entered into the Elapsed Timesheet in the myUFL system no later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, June 2.


Use your 2015-2016 personal days by June 30

If you have unused TEAMS or faculty personal leave days or a USPS personal holiday, now is the time to use those days. USPS personal holidays and TEAMS/faculty personal leave days will expire if they are not used by the end of the pay period in which June 30 (the end of the fiscal year) occurs. The last day to use your personal days for 2015-2016 is June 30.


Extended Leave of Absence Process for Faculty Members

Departments must submit the completed Extended Leave of Absence application on behalf of faculty members to University Benefits for review before the applications are sent to the Provost for approval. Once University Benefits confirms the application is complete, the application will be sent back to the faculty member’s department.
