Jan. 16 myUFL portal upgrade: What you need to know

On Tuesday, Jan. 16, myUFL will undergo an upgrade that will make the portal mobile-friendly, compatible with all internet browsers and adaptable to any smartphone, tablet or large-screen device. The portal will continue to be an entry point for accessing HR and financial systems as well as student information. Menu options and access will continue to be based on approved security roles.

Celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

UF will host a campus-wide celebration, including educational programs and service initiatives, honoring the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. nearly 50 years after his tragic assassination.

Campus Spotlight: Eddie Daniels

For Eddie Daniels, assistant vice president of UF’s Business Services Division, relationships are the core of all business operations. Prior to transitioning to the role last summer, Daniels was executive director of the J. Wayne Reitz Union—a central gathering place for students and members of the UF community—for 12 years.

UF begins its largest transportation and parking study by surveying UF community

As part of its ongoing efforts to improve transportation and parking at the University of Florida, UF faculty, staff and students are invited to participate in the 2018 Transportation and Parking Survey. The survey is part of the largest and most comprehensive transportation and parking study to date at the University of Florida.

UFIT Update: Campus migration to Eduroam Wireless begins

UFIT is working with UF Health and the Division of Student Affairs—areas that manage their own wireless (Wi-Fi) networks—to migrate their community of Wi-Fi users to the Eduroam wireless network. This three-phase project launches this month and is expected to take 18 months. This project does not affect the ‘UF Guest’ wireless access process.

Dependent Eligibility Verification Audit now scheduled for March

Did you see the story in last month’s issue of UF at Work about the coming Division of State Group Insurance (DSGI) audit, which affects all employees with dependents enrolled in state plans? Health Management Systems Inc. (HMS) is administering the audit. Requests for documents, which were originally scheduled to go out to applicable employees at Florida state universities in December, will now begin going out in March.

Be sure to watch your mail for important tax reporting documents

In addition to filing your W-2, the IRS requires reporting of health insurance coverage information for the 2017 federal income tax reporting year. Information from IRS Form 1095-B and/or Form 1095-C must be included with individuals’ income tax return. Please be sure to watch your mail for important tax documents and safeguard your form(s) with your other tax reporting documents.

COMPASS Release 3 to launch Jan. 16

The next phase of the COMPASS project, the ongoing effort to unify and modernize campus student service systems, will launch Jan. 16. To support this launch, new training materials are available. If you manage undergraduate student majors, minors and certificates, or if you are a graduate coordinator or staff member who maintains student information in GIMS, this training is for you.

Merit increases and increase in minimum wage effective as of Jan. 1

In December, the University of Florida Board Of Trustees approved collective bargaining agreements that cleared the way for the implementation of salary increases effective Jan. 1, 2018.
