Did You Know? Enhanced UF Dropbox for Education Service is FREE!

UF faculty and staff can get a free Dropbox for Education account. The free education account works just like your personal Dropbox account, but with UF Dropbox for Education, you get a lot of free storage—up to 20GB. In April, Dropbox changed its look and feel and added some new features. Here’s what’s new:

Simplified and streamlined navigation

The new layout is clearer and faster to navigate. The changes make it easier to share files, leave real-time feedback, and see changes without the back-and-forth of email.

Contextual action menus

Dropbox has redone the action menu to present only the relevant next steps for the user. This makes it easier to become a Dropbox pro without in-depth training.

More powerful search function

The search feature has been improved to provide results across all content in a user’s files and Dropbox Paper docs, so users can quickly find what they need.

Clearer account separation

The process to switch between work and personal Dropbox accounts has been simplified so users can keep files where they want them.

No more distractions

Users will now only see notifications for the account they’re in, so no more notifications about personal files popping up during a business meeting.

UF Computing Help Desk staff members are available to answer Dropbox-related questions 24/7 via phone or email and during walk-in hours at 132 Hub.
