Virtual Reality Sea Turtle Experience

Sunday, June 16
Florida Museum of Natural History

Celebrate World Sea Turtle Day at the Florida Museum of Natural History on June 16 from 1 to 4 p.m. with Project S.H.E.L.L., short for Simulating Habitat Experiences of Living Loggerheads. This education initiative uses a custom virtual reality simulation to encourage sea turtle conservation. This free virtual reality event immerses guests into the daily life of a loggerhead turtle as it searches for food. Participants will have about six minutes to find food from the perspective of a turtle while avoiding hazards like debris and boat strikes. The experience ends if the user takes on too much virtual damage or time runs out. For more information, visit or call (352) 273-2064.
