Mindfulness: From guided meditation videos to mindfulness training, explore the different mindfulness resources available to faculty and staff. 

Wellness Talk: From mental health disparities to suicide prevention, impacts of stress and much more — listen to our Wellness Talk podcast where we interview UF experts. 

Generalized Anxiety Disorder: Anxiety disorders are the most common mental illnesses in the United States. However, they can be difficult to diagnose and are often overlooked as “normal stress or anxiety.” Read this GatorCare article to learn about common symptoms, how to seek care and available resources. 

Emotional Wellness: From mental health screenings to meditation, workshops and more, explore GatorCare’s emotional wellness resources. 

UF Health Psychiatric Hospital: Crisis stabilization unit for individuals experiencing acute psychiatric symptoms. 

Employee Assistance Program (EAP): The EAP offers someone to talk to and resources to consult whenever and wherever you need them. All UF faculty, staff, graduate assistants, non-student OPS employees, house staff/residents, and postdoc associates as well as their household members are eligible to receive services. 

Calm

The Calm app features pre-recorded audio content designed to help manage stress, anxiety and insomnia. UF faculty and staff may sign up for a free Calm membership by completing this form

BRB: The Working World Takes a Break, May 9 at noon: Did you know that work is the #1 stressor in people’s lives? This Mental Health Awareness Month, join Calm Business for a special virtual event that includes a 10-minute live meditation and an esteemed panel.  

Reducing Anxiety, May 15 at 1 p.m.: In this session, a Calm representative will talk about ways to utilize the app to reduce anxiety in your daily life.

5-Day Work Smarter Challenge, May 15-19: Over a five-day period, you’ll get a daily challenge email with tailored Calm resources, which will take you 10 minutes or less to complete. By the end of the challenge, you’ll feel more empowered to work smarter and build a better work-life balance.

Alachua County Crisis Center: The Alachua County Crisis Center offers 24 hr/day crisis and suicide intervention phone counseling to all residents of Alachua County.
