Thrive! Wellness quarter in full swing

As part of Thrive!, the second quarter of wellness programming, the next Wellness Wednesday will be held on May 1 featuring Elizabeth Diehl, a lecturer in the Environmental Horticulture Department and the director of Therapeutic Horticulture at Wilmot Gardens. The presentation will be held at noon in 130 Bryan Hall in the Warrington College of Business. If you can’t make it in person, you can view the livestream here.

An article recently published in Greater Good Magazine points to the growing importance psychologists are placing on the healing power of nature. In her presentation, “Nature as a Partner in Lifelong Wellness,” Diehl will explore four important stages along the life course (childhood, emerging adulthood, middle age and late adulthood) and the wellness challenges associated with each of these stages as our life course trajectories shift. She will share the positive benefits of bringing nature into our lives at all stages, examining relevant research and exploring applicable methods for using nature to increase wellness.

Additionally, UFHR Worklife is currently hosting the 10@10 Campaign, which encourages everyone to take 10 minutes each day at 10 a.m. to be mindful of one’s health. This can look different for everyone, but the benefits are infinite. You can find suggested activities to do throughout the week at https://worklife.hr.ufl.edu/10-10-campaign/.
