New Form I-9 and E-Verify Resource Guide

UF Recruitment and Staffing has developed a new Form I-9 Resource Guide to serve as a resource for current and new HR department administrators when completing Form I-9 and E-Verify.


Upcoming RAFT Forum to address cost sharing

The next RAFT Forum, scheduled for Feb. 12, will focus on how to effectively propose and manage cost sharing for sponsored projects. The session will be held from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. in HPNP G-114, located on the ground floor of the Health Professions, Pharmacy and Nursing Complex. Representatives from UF core offices will be on hand to answer questions.


February is American Heart Month

Windows to Wellness event inspired employees to start 2016 off right

On Friday, Jan. 22, UF Human Resource Services hosted its first “Windows to Wellness” health and wellness fair at Emerson Alumni Hall. Approximately 350 employees attended the event.


Community-wide celebration of creativity and health scheduled for Feb. 26

More than two dozen community partners will host a daylong celebration on Feb. 26 at venues throughout the county focused on the intersection of creativity and wellness in the 352 area.


UF Mindfulness introduces “Mindfulness Wave,” meditations on the Plaza

Beginning this month, the UF Mindfulness Initiative will introduce a series of mindfulness teachings on how faculty can integrate mindfulness into their classrooms and/or online teachings. The “Mindfulness Wave” will feature one- to two-hour teachings on a rotational basis in UF’s 16 colleges throughout 2016.

If you’re under constant stress and can’t lose weight, there might be a protein to blame

In cell and mouse model experiments, University of Florida Health researchers have discovered that chronic stress stimulates production of betatrophin, a protein that then goes on to inhibit an enzyme involved in fat metabolism. Those findings were published recently in the journal BBA Molecular and Cell Biology of Lipids.
