Supporting students’ career readiness in uncertain times

The Career Connections Center will host the third annual Faculty and Staff Career Symposium on Jan. 22 and 29 from noon to 1:45 p.m. The theme of this year’s event is “Experience Reimagined: Supporting Students’ Career Readiness in Uncertain Times.” You can choose to attend either date; both sessions will be held online via Zoom.

Given the pandemic’s impact on our economy and the way we work, it is more important than ever for students to have meaningful career experiences that prepare them for work, citizenship and life after graduation. The Symposium offers UF faculty and staff practical strategies for shaping students’ meaningful experiences through curricular and co-curricular choices. Attendees will also learn how to have impactful career conversations with students that propel them toward setting and achieving their professional goals.

The symposium will consist of two tracks each day – Practitioner and Academic. Both tracks will include presentations and panel discussions with employers, UF faculty and certified career coaches to provide practical career development applications for faculty and staff to incorporate into their respective functional areas.
