Recently enacted bill changes travel cost maximums for certain travel
The 2016 Florida Legislature recently enacted House Bill 5003, which mandates that costs for lodging associated with a meeting, conference, or convention organized or sponsored in whole or in part by a state agency or the judicial branch may not exceed $150 per day.
This applies to lodging for UF employees attending an event that the University of Florida has organized or is sponsoring. Amounts greater than $150 may be paid with alternative funding sources.
Departments will be required to ensure the requirements of this law are met when establishing lodging for UF employees attending UF sponsored events.
