2019 UF Campaign for Charities’ Gators Give campaign begins Sept. 30

Since 1989, UF employees have given more than $24 million to area charities through the UF Campaign for Charities (UFCC). The UFCC hopes its 2019 giving will increase that total by another $1 million with this year’s campaign running from Sept. 30 through Oct. 18.

This year, UF employees can choose to support one or all of 95 charitable agencies. These agencies provide services ranging from shelter for the homeless and environmental protection to support for disease research and protection for abused children.

You can support the campaign through payroll deduction, check, cash or credit card, designating your gift to specific agencies or making an undesignated gift that supports all agencies in this year’s campaign.

Why should you do your charitable giving through the UFCC?

Because when you give to your favorite agency through the UFCC, the agency has the potential to receive significantly more through undesignated gifts, which are divided proportionally among all agencies. In 2018, gifts designated to specific agencies were increased by approximately 30 percent through the UFCC.

Keep an eye out for a campaign postcard and emails with a link to the donation site in the coming weeks. You can also learn more about this year’s campaign at ufcc.ufl.edu. Help make our community an even better place to live and work.
